Issue of Tom Trevor Sandes (0212) and Margaret Morrison Young:
Louis George (0106) was born at Roxburgh on 2 August 1924, and educated at Roxburgh. He then worked for the Government Audit Office in Wellington before joining the Royal New Zealand Navy at the age of 18, and after service in World War II worked in HM Customs. He later ran a very successful trucking business in Palmerston North. In 1948 he married Dorothy Boyd by whom he has four children. He retired to Palmerston North.
Trevor Goodman (0107) was born at Roxburgh on 21 October 1927, and was educated there and at Otago. He worked first in warehousing and sales in Dunedin, then moved to Hamilton selling steel and to Auckland as manager of a large company in heavy road haulage and aviation. While a sales representative he went into partnership with the Dave Holster, the senior engineer of a heavy engineering company at Tokoroa, a small town north of Taupo. They bought the company, of which Trevor remainedl chairman though he retired in 1986. In 1954 he married Melva Joy King, by whom he has two children, but she died in a car accident in 1962. In 1965 he married Margaret Stott (nee Friedlander), but they divorced in 1978. On 5
January 1981 he married Gweneth Anne Levet (nee Wolfenden), a widowed teacher of Auckland. Trevor and Gwen used to farm kiwi fruit, flowers and vegetables for market, and are famous for their hospitality, which they extended to us in 2002, at Tauranga and their holiday home at Taupo. Gwen played golf for New Zealand, winning the Fiji Open in 1974, and Trevor was Captain and President of the local golf club. They now live at 25 Contour Ave, Tauranga.
