Nicholas (0506) died without issue. In 1798, when the United Irishmen Society founded by the republican leader Wolfe Tone was introduced to North Kerry, Gerald FitzGerald of Duagh, brother of the Knight of Glin, and Nicholas Sandes of Listowel appointed two men as leaders in their respective parishes, but both men were transported to Botany Bay. So Nicholas seems to have favoured the republican cause against the Protestant ascendancy.
