     Archer Besnard Sandes was born in 1904 at Woollahra, Sydney, New South Wales, AustraliaG.1 He was the son of John Sandes and Clare Louise Berry.1 He married Mary Jane Nobbs, daughter of Benjamin ffrench Nobbs and Amy Quintal, on 10 January 1933 at Norfolk IslandG.2 He and Mary Jane Nobbs were separated before 1934.3 He died in July 1979 at New South Wales, Australia.3
     He was a patrol officer at Papua New GuineaG.1
