AT DUNEDIN.

DUNEDIN, Nov. 18.
The medical practitioners say that the epidemic has reached its climax.

The patients in the hospital number 183.

Dr. Colquhoun says ihat probably- 98 per cent, of those attacked get well. An element of panic has been added to the other troubles of the medical men, and Dr. , Cdlquhoun says that, there is really no* -need for it. White' this is the severest epidemic of the kind experienced since 1890, the rate of mortality is exceedingly low. It depends largely upon other complications.* \ The present heavy rain is regarded as beneficial. )

Mr Spencer Sandes, who died to-day of influenza, aged 35 years, had been a. member of the Otago Rugby Union executive for. the past eight years. He leaves a widow and two children.
